He is the best — and you want to show it! But where do you even begin to say thank you to the man who you all love so much — especially since you’re a busy mom who doesn’t have time to deal? Here are five fast things you can do this Father’s Day to show love and gratitude from you and the kids.

1. Have your kids make a portrait of your husband, and frame it.

Keep it simple, or get fancy! Start with a pencil, trace with Sharpie, and then color in with crayon. Add a watercolor wash for bonus points.

2. Write an “everything about daddy” page.

I like to fill this out with my children every year and then read the cute answers at our family gathering on Father’s Day. It is an instant laugh for all — and heartwarming, too. My favorite was when my daughter said she loves her dad because he is so funny — one of his best qualities, indeed!

3. Think about Dad’s favorite activity and ask the kids to write out (or you can scribe for them) a step-by-step “how to.”

Having your child explain how to play full-court basketball, how to play chess, or how to make a soufflé is gonna be hilarious — I promise you that.

4. Make a list of the top 10 reasons dad is the best.

Ask some guiding questions, like “what is something daddy does that makes you laugh?” (Or feel happy, or proud). Remind your children about their daddy’s charm, wit, kindness, and more. The little moments mean so much. My husband is amazing and makes the most healthy and beautiful lunches every day, for example, and this list is a great way to show our appreciation for things like that!

5. Make his favorite foods.

Ask your kids what Dad’s favorite food is, and have them make it. Kids in the kitchen is always an adorable (albeit messy) experience!
