Boston Babies Who Brunch :: 6 Restaurants You (and Your Kids!) Will Love

My husband Matt and I love dining out at fun restaurants. However, since our son, Dylan, was born last year, our eating-out abilities have been limited. Trying to bring a baby out to dinner is very risky, and you know a meltdown is always looming. We figured the only way to still get our restaurant fix — without going broke by constantly paying for babysitters — was to go out to brunch. There are so many fantastic restaurants serving amazing brunch in Boston, and it is a great family activity.

When bringing Dylan to brunch there are two things we look for:

1. Do they take reservations? No one has time to wait for a table with a baby!

2. Is there room to store your stroller? (Or, even better, will they let you park your stroller next to the table?)

Here are a few of our favorite brunch spots:

75 Chestnut :: Beacon Hill, Boston

This adorable Beacon Hill restaurant is perfect for a classic New England brunch. It’s hard to resist the Maine lobster Benedict or omelette!

Committee :: Seaport District, Boston

Go for something a little different and try this trendy Greek restaurant’s brunch. I love going here after a trip to the Boston Children’s Museum’s members-only hours (9–10 a.m. every Saturday).

Gaslight Brasserie :: South End, Boston

I love their “prix fixe” brunch, which gets you juice, coffee, a pastry, and brunch entree for only $11.95! Make sure to also check out the SoWa Open Market (right next to the restaurant) if you dine between April 29 and October 29.

Mamelah’s Delicatessen :: Kendall Square, Cambridge

I love me a good Jewish deli, and Mamelah’s “all day” breakfast will not disappoint! Their “nana’s noodle kugel” is almost as good as my Grandma Sylvia’s (which says a lot!).

The Painted Burro :: Davis Square, Somerville

It’s no coincidence that we’ve been to this Latin American restaurant at least a dozen times! The food is so delicious and extremely affordable. It’s also a great place to indulge in some super yummy brunch cocktails.

Stephanie’s on Newbury :: Back Bay, Boston

Whenever we have family or friends in from out of town we head to Stephanie’s. The prime location, classic food, and great people watching make it a perfect brunch spot!

Jackpot! Dylan slept through all of brunch!
