The pre-baby me worked out six days a week, ran road races, and played in organized sports. The post-baby me is lucky to exercise three days a week. With less free time, I’ve been looking for quicker workouts that are effective and give me the post-workout high that keeps me coming back.

When I was asked to write a review of Crunch Live, I was psyched. I was eager to try something new that I could do at home whenever I could fit a workout in, and I was hopeful it would bust me out of my slump.

What is Crunch Live?

Crunch Live is a membership to a library of 70-plus workout videos. The videos vary in length (15 to 60 minutes) and type of workout (kick butt cardio, strength training, yoga, Pilates, dance, and more). Many videos require no equipment, so there are no excuses to put it off.

Cost

At $9.99 a month or $90 a year Crunch Live is SUPER affordable. A year’s membership is equal to what I pay for one month at my current gym, and I literally spend more on iced coffee each week than the Crunch Live monthly rate.

Audience

While Crunch Live is marketed to people of all fitness levels, I would rank it for more intermediate or experienced exercisers. All the workouts I did jumped right into the exercises without demonstrating what they are, and only a couple offered tips on proper form. Having taken many classes at brick-and-mortar gyms, I was familiar with all the exercises and the proper form for them, but if you aren’t, it’s possible you may injure yourself or not get the most benefit from the exercise.

The “Get Low (Impact) Cardio” video is a great workout for those who are looking to jumpstart a workout routine or are getting back to it after time away. It’s also great for postnatal mamas or anyone looking for a low impact workout with a cardio kick.

Favorite workouts

My go-to videos are “Quick Core” (15 minutes) and “Total Body Bootcamp” (60 minutes), which are great for moms looking to amp up their routine.

Bottom line

If you are a busy mom looking for an inexpensive, at-home workout solution, Crunch Live is for you. If you aren’t self motivated or don’t have a support network encouraging you to participate, you may be throwing your money away. In that case, save it for iced coffees.
