Indoor Easter Events Around Boston

Easter is the first of April this year. Once in great while, we New Englanders might be able to wear Easter dresses without parkas on top, but definitely not this year! I’d like to bring my children to participate in some fun Easter activities, but I don’t really feel like freezing my (bunny) tail off in the process. Here are a few Easter events that are indoors. Please share if you know of any others!

Faneuil Hall Easter Egg Hunt :: Boston
Saturday, March 24 :: 11:30 a.m.

Solve the clues to find candy-filled eggs around Faneuil Hall. This is a free event, but registration ahead of time is encouraged.

Curious George Banana Hunt :: Cambridge
Friday, March 30 :: 11:30 a.m.

Join George and his friends as they read well-loved Easter stories followed by a banana hunt throughout the store. This event is tailored to children ages 2-6, but all are welcome. One ticket is required per child participating; others need not have a ticket.

Hunt at Bass Pro Shops :: Foxborough
Saturday, March 31 :: 1:30 p.m.

Find five eggs around the store and return them for some candy! This event is for ages 2-10.

Easter Eggstravaganza :: Carver
Sunday, March 25 :: 1:45 p.m.

This free event (but requires registration) has three egg hunt heats based on age. Other activities on site include a craft station, scavenger hunt, Easter games, and snacks for purchase.

Easter Egg Hunt at McCue Garden Center :: Woburn
Saturday, March 31 :: 9 a.m.

Real eggs are hidden throughout the garden center for kids to find and then decorate! This is a free event for all ages.

Spring Egg-stravaganza :: Norwell
Saturday, March 31 :: 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Rabbits, chickens, and their eggs will be on hand. Learn to dye eggs with natural dye, enjoy an egg hunt, and search for clues that spring is near!

Easter bunny sightings

Caring Bunny at the South Shore Plaza :: Braintree
March 11 :: 9–10:30 a.m.

The caring bunny provides a subdued and gentle experience for children with special needs. The event is free, but professional photos will be available for purchase.

Bass Pro Shops :: Foxborough
March 24–April 1

At Bass Pro Shops your child can have their photo taken with the Easter bunny or do a craft if the floppy white bunny is too scary. This is a free event.

Easter Sunday Brunch at Taj Boston :: Boston
Sunday, April 1

For a special Easter adventure, book tickets for a lavish brunch at Taj. Brunch is made even more festive by a visit from the Barnyard Babies, the area’s premier traveling petting zoo. Snuggle a baby chick or bunny while enjoying an extensive brunch menu.

Other fun

Easter Egg Decorating :: Jamaica Plain
Sunday, March 25 :: 1 p.m.

Bring your own white, hardboiled egg to decorate, and the rest of the fun will be provided! Suggested donation is $5.

Easter Egg Truffle Making Workshop with Taza Chocolate :: Boston
Saturday, March 31 :: 11 a.m.

This is a family-friendly (5 years+) truffle rolling class. Chocolate ganache is provided to roll into egg-shaped truffles. Add a white fondant shell and “paint” them with Easter adornments. Tickets are for a dozen eggs to take home and enjoy!
